Continuous industrial duty wears a set out differently from standby duty

A machine that runs a few hours a month during outages and one that carries a process load for ten hours a day age at completely different rates. Buyers of Mitsubishi-powered sets are often in the second case: a manufacturing plant, a mine or a district supply where the machine is part of production rather than a fallback. The specification question is therefore not only "how many kVA" but "for how many hours, at what ambient, and with what service access".

We build these sets for that duty, with the cooling, panel and enclosure arranged around the maintenance access the machine will need over its working life.

Engine platformMitsubishi diesel, water-cooled industrial

Why this series suits heavy running schedules

Duty is fixed in writing before the engine is chosen. A continuous-duty requirement and a standby requirement lead to different engine variants, and quoting the wrong one is the costliest error in this class.
Cooling is matched to the site, not to a catalogue room. Long running hours expose an undersized radiator quickly, so the air path is part of the specification.
Service points stay reachable in service. Filters, panel and inspection covers are arranged so routine maintenance does not require dismantling the enclosure.
Fuel autonomy is planned for the running schedule. Continuous operation needs a fuel arrangement sized for the hours involved rather than a small base tank.
Parallel operation is available where the process cannot stop. A second machine under synchronising control keeps production running through maintenance.
Ranges overlap with the larger platforms. Where a project sits between this series and the megawatt class, both can be quoted on the same enquiry so the comparison is like for like.

Manufacturing base

Jiangsu Qingzhiteng Power Equipment Co., Ltd manufactures diesel and gas generator sets in Yangzhou, Jiangsu. The inland diesel programme covers 3 kVA to 3000 kVA and the marine programme 12 kW to 500 kW, and the works also builds container units, low-noise canopies, parallel systems and sets with remote monitoring. The company exports to more than 80 countries on five continents.

How these sets are produced and released

Duty, rating and site conditions are agreed and the engine variant is fixed.
Engine and alternator are received and checked against that specification.
Coupling and base-frame alignment are completed.
Cooling, fuel, exhaust and control circuits are assembled and checked.
The set is run on the test bench and its electrical and protection settings are verified.
Enclosure, access panels and paint are finished.
The unit is cased with waterproof cloth and shipped with its documentation.

Duties in the same class

Manufacturing plant, Southeast Asia

The process could not tolerate an outage, so the plant was planned with two machines under synchronising control rather than one large unit, allowing service without stopping production.

Mine and quarry support, Africa

Power was needed in dusty conditions for long daily shifts. The set was specified for continuous duty with the cooling and fuel arrangement matched to the running hours.

Water supply station, Middle East

The station ran for extended periods when the grid was weak, so the duty was confirmed as prime power before the engine and alternator frames were selected.

Questions asked about this series

How do I know whether my load needs continuous or standby duty?

Tell us the expected running hours per month and whether the set carries the full load or only part of it. A set quoted as standby and then used for continuous running will not last as expected, so the duty is confirmed before the engine variant is chosen.

What does a 450 kW requirement look like in this series?

It sits inside the range covered here. Send the load details and the running regime and we will confirm the engine model and alternator frame for that output, together with the panel functions you need.

Can the enclosure still be serviced easily?

That is part of the specification. Access covers, filters and the panel are arranged so the maintenance routine can be carried out without dismantling the canopy. Tell us where the set will stand and who will service it.

Can you quote this series and a larger platform together?

Yes. Where a project sits between two capacities, both can be quoted on the same enquiry so the comparison is made on the same basis of duty, voltage and control arrangement.

What about minimum order, lead time and payment method?

These follow the rating, quantity, destination and payment method and are stated in the quotation. Provide the quantity and the port and we will quote against your project.

Where the requirement moves into the megawatt class, compare the MTU series; the Yuchai-powered range covers the smaller industrial window, and the full product range lists the remaining platforms.

Send the running schedule with the load

Tell us the required output, the expected running hours per month, the ambient and dust conditions, the voltage, frequency and phase, whether an ATS or parallel arrangement is needed, the quantity and the destination port. We will confirm the duty rating and configuration for the site.
